Tilbury (2006 population 4,809) is a community within the municipality of Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada. It is located 26.5 kilometres southwest of Chatham and 57.3 kilometres east of Windsor on Highway 401.

Port Alma Wind Farm

Port Alma Wind Farm is a large wind farm project located on the north shore of Lake Erie in the Municipality of Chatham–Kent, Ontario, Canada. It began generating electricity in November, 2008. It is owned and operated by Kruger Energy. The power will be fed into the Ontario electricity market administered by the Independent Electricity System Operator. The wind farm consists of forty four Siemens 2.3 (MW) Mark II wind turbines, with an installed capacity of 101.2 (MW).

Jeannette's Creek train wreck

The Baptiste Creek train wreck was a fatal railroad accident that occurred on October 27, 1854 at Baptiste Creek near present-day Jeannettes Creek in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. It was Canada's first major train wreck leaving 52 people dead and indeed the worst rail disaster in North America at that time. The train involved left Niagara Falls the previous afternoon; it comprised eight cars altogether; four first-class, two second-class and two baggage cars.
