The 2000 Kipawa earthquake was a 5.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Quebec and Ontario, Canada at 6:22 a.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2000. It occurred in the Western Quebec Seismic Zone. The main shock epicenter was located in Lake Kipawa about 10 km north of Témiscaming in southwestern Quebec and 70 km northeast of North Bay, Ontario. The shaking associated with this earthquake was strongest within 50 km of the epicenter.

Lake Kipawa is a lake in far south-west Quebec, Canada, near the border with Ontario, north of Témiscaming, Quebec. Also see Kipawa River which is the only natural outflow of Kipawa Lake, the southern Gordon Creek in Temiskaming sud being a man made channel. Lake Kipawa is currently the source of debate among Innergex and Hydro Quebec concerning water rights for their competing hydro electric projects.
