Saint-Georges, Shawinigan

Saint-Georges, often unofficially known as Saint-Georges-de-Champlain, was a former village municipality and is now a sector (secteur) of the city of Shawinigan. Until 1919, Saint-Georges had been known as Village Turcotte. It merged with Shawinigan in an municipal amalgamation on January 1, 2002. In the Canada 1996 Census its population was 3,929.

Shawinigan railway station

Shawinigan railway station is located on Chemin du CN in Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada. It is a former CN Rail station and is currently used by Via Rail for two routes running from Montreal. The station is staffed and is wheelchair-accessible. It is a designated Heritage Railway Station.

Aréna Jacques Plante

The Arena Jacques Plante is a 2,524-seat (total capacity 3,700) multi-purpose arena in Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada. It was built in 1937. It was home to the Shawinigan Cataractes Ice hockey team. The arena is named in honour of Jacques Plante; formerly, the building was known as the Shawinigan Municipal Auditorium. In 2008, the building was closed in favour of the new Centre Bionest located adjacent to the Arena Jacques Plante.
