WIKE is a radio station located in Newport, Vermont. It currently broadcasts a country music format at 1 kw 24 hours a day. It is owned by Jeffrey Shapiro's Vertical Capital Partners, LP. WIKE, along with 29 other Nassau stations in northern New England, was purchased at bankruptcy auction by Carlisle Capital Corporation, a company controlled by Bill Binnie, on May 22, 2012.

The Northern State Correctional Facility (NSCF) is a state prison in the city of Newport, Orleans County, Vermont, USA. It holds up to 400 medium security male prisoners. The Vermont Department of Corrections is responsible for running this prison. A branch of the Community High School of Vermont is located there. Indoor Recreation of Orleans County

Indoor Recreation of Orleans County, called IROC, is a not-for-profit recreation center for the people of Orleans County, Vermont. It is located off US 5, the Newport-Derby Road, in Derby, Vermont. The President is Phil White. 5,000 people visited IROC 150,000 times (total) in 2006. The indoor rotary track is open to the public for free. There were 25,000 visits to it in 2006. In 2007, Vermont Governor Jim Douglas gave IROC the Healthy Aging Award as Organizational Champion.
