Cypress (former Saskatchewan provincial electoral district)

Cypress is a former provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. This district was created before the 3rd Saskatchewan general election in 1912 as "Gull Lake". Since the district encompassed most of the Saskatchewan side of the Cypress Hills, the riding was renamed "Cypress" in 1917. Redrawn and renamed "Shaunavon" before 1934, the constituency was abolished before the 9th Saskatchewan general election in 1938.

Cypress Hills Formation

The Cypress Hills Formation is a stratigraphical unit of Oligocene age in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. It takes the name from the Cypress Hills, and was first described in outcrops on the slopes of the Cypress Hills by M.Y. Williams and W.S. Dyer in 1930. Type localities are found at Anxiety Butte in south-western Saskatchewan, as well as hill slopes in south-eastern Alberta.

Dollard, Saskatchewan

Dollard is a small village situated on the historic Red Coat Trail in the southwest corner of Saskatchewan, Canada. It is 13 km west of the town of Shaunavon and 21 km east of the town of Eastend. It is approximately 100 km from the Montana USA border and 130 km to the Alberta border.

Eastend, Saskatchewan

Eastend is a town in southwest Saskatchewan, Canada. It is situated approximately 55 kilometres north from the Montana border and 85 kilometres from the Alberta border. The town is best known for the nearby discovery of a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton nicknamed "Scotty" in 1994. The town has used the discovery of this fossil as the main centrepiece in the construction of a museum called the T. rex Discovery Centre, which opened on May 30, 2000.
