Northern College is a college of applied arts and technology in Northern Ontario. Great Porcupine Fire

The Great Porcupine Fire of 1911 was one of the most devastating forest fires ever to strike the Ontario northland. Spring had come early that year, followed by an abnormally hot dry spell that lasted into the summer. This created ideal conditions for the ensuing disaster, in which a number of smaller fires converged. Porcupine, a community on the north side of Porcupine Lake, in the city of Timmins, Ontario, Canada, was the site of a huge gold discovery in 1907.

District School Board Ontario North East, also known by the initials DSB1, is an Ontario English public school board serving Northeastern Ontario from Hearst to Temagami. CHIM-FM

CHIM-FM is a Canadian radio station, which previously broadcasted Christian music at 102.3 FM in Timmins, Ontario. The station began testing its signal at 102.3 MHz on December 24, 1995, and officially signed on April 7, 1996. The station has expanded through a network of rebroadcast transmitters in Northern Ontario. CHIM-FM also has a rebroadcaster in Red Deer, Alberta, CHIM-FM-5, which originates some of its own programming. Its call letters were pronounced, on air, as "see Him."
