The 1985 Pichilemu earthquake, also known locally as the Rapel Lake earthquake, was a 7.5 magnitude earthquake that occurred 50 kilometres northeast of Pichilemu, O'Higgins Region, Chile on April 8, 1985 at 21:56:59 local time at a depth of 37.8 kilometres .

Petrel Lake

Petrel Lake (Spanish: Laguna de Petrel or Laguna Petrel) is a salt lake located in Pichilemu beach, Chile, in front of Pichilemu railway station. It contains a high percentage of sea water, and it was formerly one of the main attractions of Pichilemu. It is named after the hacienda San Antonio de Petrel, located nearby Pichilemu.

Estación Pichilemu

Estación Pichilemu, also known as the Estación de Ferrocarriles de Pichilemu (Spanish: Railway station of Pichilemu) was a railway station in Pichilemu, Chile. It is a wood construction dated circa 1925, located in front of the Petrel Lake, near Daniel Ortúzar Avenue . It remained in operation until the 1990s, and became a National Monument on September 16, 1994. It has since become an arts and culture center, and tourism information office.
