Anshan Jade Buddha

Anshan Jade Buddha is one of the largest jade Buddha statues in the world. It is located in a large temple complex of 22,104 square metres situated beside Dongshan Scenic Reserve within 219 park of Anshan City in Liaoning province, China. The statue was sculpted from a piece of jade 7.95 metres high, 6.88 metres wide, 4.10 metres thick, weighing 260.76 tonnes . The front of the stone has been carved with an image of Sakyamuni (aka. Gautama) Buddha.

Anshan Normal University

Anshan Normal University is a university in the city of Anshan, in Liaoning province, China. It is under the provincial government. The school was founded in 1958 as a teacher training centre but suspended all operations in 1962 at the dawn of the Chinese Cultural Revolution before it was restarted again in 1978. The campus covers an area of 731,600 square meters. There is a teaching staff of 1207 over various levels from Professor down to post graduate teachers.

Beiyang
