Japanese corvette Kaimon

Japanese corvette Kaimon was a sail-and-steam corvette of the early Imperial Japanese Navy. The name Kaimon translates to "sea gate". The ship was named for Mount Kaimon, though written with different kanji, located in Kagoshima prefecture.

Dalian Bay

Dalian Bay, is a bay on the southeast side of the Liaodong Peninsula of Northeast China, open to the Yellow Sea in the east. Downtown Dalian lies along the southern shore of the bay. Its significance is that it is ice-free year-round, while Jinzhou Bay (金州湾) on the other, northwest side of the peninsula is part of the Bohai Sea, and is shallow and closed for four months of the winter.

Port of Dalian

The Port of Dalian (38° 55' N 121° 41' E) founded in 1899 lies at the southern tip of Liaodong Peninsula in Liaoning province and is the most northern ice-free port in China. It is also the largest multi-purpose port in Northeast China serving the seaports North Asia, East Asia and the Pacific Rim. It is the trade gateway to the Pacific. It is the second largest container transshipment hub in mainland China.

Dalian Metro

The Dalian Metro or Dalian Rapid Transit is an elevated rapid transit system in the city of Dalian, China (as of 2012, Dalian does not have a fully underground subway system). The metro opened on 1 May 2003. The system currently in operation consists of 2 lines: Line 3 and Line 7.

Battle of Nanshan

The Battle of Nanshan was one of many vicious land battles of the Russo-Japanese War. It took place on 25 May 1904 across a two-mile wide defense line across the narrowest part of the Liáodōng Peninsula, covering the approaches to Port Arthur and on the 116-meter high Nanshan Hill, the present-day Jinzhou District, north of the city center of Dalian, Liaoning, China.
