Hutoushan Reservoir

Hutoushan Reservoir is a man made reservoir in Lhünzhub County, Tibet, roughly 20 miles north of Lhasa. It lies to the northeast of the village of Kazixiang and southeast of Chunduixiang. The villages of Gana, Tiangacun, Seronggang and Zhujiecun lie near the lake.

Nyang bran

Nyang bran (Tibetan ཉང་བྲན།)is a suburb district and valley located several kilometres north of the city of Lhasa, Tibet. The valley is noted for its hermitages, belonging to the Sera Monastery, one of the three great historical monasteries of Tibet. Pabonka Hermitage, Drakri Hermitage, Chupzang Nunnery and many others are located in the valley which offers scenic views of Lhasa. Mount Parasol lies on its western side on which the Pabonka Hermitage is located.

Sera Monastery

Sera Monastery is one of the 'great three' Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet, located 1.25 miles north of Lhasa. The other two are Ganden Monastery and Drepung Monastery. The origin of the name 'Sera' is attributed to a fact that the site where the monastery was built was surrounded by wild roses (se ra in Tibetan language) in bloom.
