Baidi Township

Baidi is a township in Nagarzê County, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It lies on a lake, at an altitude of 4919 metres (16141 feet) and is located about 75 miles south-west of Lhasa.

Yamdrok Lake

Yamdrok Lake is one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet . It is over 72 km long. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams. The lake does have an outlet stream at its far western end. Around 90 km to the west of the lake lies the Tibetan town of Gyantse and Lhasa is a hundred km to the northeast. According to local mythology, Yamdok Yumtso lake is the transformation of a goddess.

Taklung (town)

Taklung, Taglung or Daglung is a small town in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It lies at an altitude of 4459 metres. The town was once the seat of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, with its headquarters at the Taklung Monastery.
