Galeras

Galeras (Urcunina among the 16th-century indigenous people) is an Andean stratovolcano in the Colombian department of Nariño, near the departmental capital Pasto. Its summit rises 4,276 metres above sea level. It has erupted frequently since the Spanish conquest, with its first historical eruption being recorded on December 7, 1580. A 1993 eruption killed nine people, including six scientists who had descended into the volcano's crater to sample gases.

La Florida, Nariño

La Florida is a town and municipality in the Nariño Department, Colombia. The village of La Florida was founded on the 11th of November of 1820 under the original name of Mombuco which means "small valley". It was founded by Juan Meneses and formed part of the dioceses of San Bartholome of Matituy. It was renamed in 1843 to the name of La Florida. Its current population is of 25.529.
