Desamparados (canton)

Desamparados is the name of the 3rd canton in the province of San José in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 118.26 km², and has a population of 206,708, making it the third most populated among the 81 cantons of Costa Rica. The capital city of the canton is also called Desamparados. The canton begins in the southern suburbs of the national capital city of San José, with the Río Tiribí marking its northern boundary.

Tobosi

Tobosi is a town in the province of Cartago, Costa Rica, located about 12 miles southwest of the city of Cartago. It is also known as San Juan de Tobosi, because St. John the Evangelist is the patron guardian. Tobosi is one of the oldest towns in the country. The illegal sharing of Indians made in 1569 by Governor But Afan de Ribera and Gomez Tobosi dwellers were given in encomienda of Juan de Cardenas, Sheriff and Sheriff council of Cartago in the Afan de Ribera expedition to Tierra Adentro.

Estadio Jorge "Cuty" Monge

Estadio Jorge "Cuty" Monge is a multi-use stadium in Desamparados, Costa Rica. It is currently used mostly for football matches, on club level by Brujas F.C. of the Primera División de Costa Rica. The stadium has a capacity of 5,500 spectators.

Parmenio Medina

Parmenio Medina Pérez (January 2, 1939 - July 7, 2001) was a Colombian radio broadcaster and journalist. He was a naturalized citizen of Costa Rica. Medina was a known as a critical journalist widely viewed as inconvenient for organizations accused of abuse or corruption such as the case of the 1979 Vuelta Ciclista a Costa Rica or a 1993 scandal about sport footwear imports. His journalistic work was focused on radio, mostly in journalistic investigations.
