Santa Cruz (canton), Costa Rica

Santa Cruz is the name of the third canton in Guanacaste Province in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 1,312.27 square kilometres, and has a population of 43,333. Its capital city is also called Santa Cruz. The heart-shaped canton is on the northern Pacific coast between Bahía Potrero to the north and the mouth of the Río Montaña to the south. It includes Cabo Velas, the furthermost western point on the Nicoya Peninsula. The Río Tempisque delineates a small portion of the eastern border.

Filadelfia de Guanacaste

Filadelfia is the first district and main city of Carrillo in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This district has 7,814 inhabitants and 125.01 km². It was declared an archaeological city because of all the indigenous cemeteries found near the Tempisque River. The town was formerly known as Siete Cueros. It was originally named for the abundance of the trees with this name.

Allegro Papagayo

Allegro Papagayo is an all-inclusive resort that is located in Costa Rica's Gulf of Papagayo. The Four Seasons and the Fiesta Resorts are in the same neighborhood. Tamarindo River

Tamarindo River is a river in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica. The estuary is adjacent to the town of Tamarindo. The river has a large population of caiman (alligators). The river estuary is a popular place for surfing despite the local caiman population. The river is a major obstacle to reaching Playa Grande from Tamarindo.

Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Tamarindo is a town and distrito located on the Northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica in the Province of Guanacaste. The district has a population of 3,525, although the town itself is about 500. But it can swell to 5,000 people or more during the tourist season and during special holidays. The main attractions are surfing and eco-tourism. Playa Tamarindo is a long beach, with excellent waves near the mouth of the estuary. Currents can be strong, especially on a falling tide.
