Battle of Domažlice
The Battle of Domažlice (Czech: Bitva u Domažlic) or Battle of Taus (German: Schlacht bei Taus) was fought on August 14, 1431 as the part of the 5th crusade against Hussites. Air battle over Merklín
The Air battle over Merklín was an air-to-air engagement between Czechoslovak air forces and USAAF over the Czech village of Merklín, in the Bohemian Forest, on 10 March 1953. During the action Czech pilot Jaroslav Šrámek, flying a MiG-15, shot down an American F-84, which fell 35 miles inside the German border. The American pilot, Lt. Warren G. Brown, bailed out safely over German territory.
