Ile Kére Kére caves

The Ile Kére Kére caves are solutional cave in the Lautém District at the eastern tip of East Timor (Timor-Leste), close to the village of Tutuala. Its main cave is called Lena Hara. It has provided evidence that Timor has been occupied by humans for 30-35,000 years and thus is evidence of the colonisation of humans making the water crossing of Wallacea between the Pleistocene continents of Sunda and Sahul.

Lospalos

Lospalos (sometimes mistakenly written Los Palos) is a city in East Timor, 248 kilometres to the east of Dili, the national capital. Lospalos has a population of 17,186 (2006) and is the capital of the district of Lautém and the subdistrict of Lospalos. The subdistrict has a population of 25,417 (2004). Internationally, the city is incorrectly called Los Palos, suggesting that its name is of Spanish origin.

Jaco (East Timor)

Jaco (also sometimes written as Jako) is a small island in the Lesser Sunda Islands. It lies across from the easternmost point of the island of Timor, Kap Cutcha. Politically it is part of the subdistrict of Tutuala within Lautém district of East Timor. It is separated from the mainland by a narrow channel, suitable for passage by small vessels only. It is about 10 square kilometres in area and reaches about 100 metres in altitude. The island is uninhabited.
