Milagro, Ecuador

Milagro (Spanish for miracle) is a city located in Guayas, Ecuador. It is the seat of Milagro Canton. Milagro is the second largest city in the province of Guayas. As of the census of 2007, there were 180,103 people residing within the canton limits. Milagro is known for its impressive progress in agriculture, industry and commerce. Sugar cane and pineapples are the most important crop.

El Triunfo, Ecuador

El Triunfo, formerly known as Boca de los Sapos, is a town located in Guayas, Ecuador, near the Cañar province. It is the seat of El Triunfo Canton, created in 1983. As of the census of 2001, there are 34,117 people residing within canton limits. The area of the canton is 468.8 km², but some of it is disputed with La Troncal Canton in Cañar. French priest Luis López Lescure helped the town grow. It is the most important town in eastern Guayas, as it grew around a road junction.

Taura River

The Taura River is a river of Ecuador. It flows into the Churute Estuary in the Gulf of Guayaquil. It gives its name to the shrimp disease Taura syndrome, which was first described in shrimp farms along the river.
