Cara Sucia (Mesoamerican site)

Cara Sucia is a Mesoamerican archaeological site in western El Salvador. The site was first settled in the Preclassic period and was finally abandoned around AD 900, in the Terminal Classic, when the Pipil people moved into the region, although there is no evidence of Pipil occupation at the site.

Pasaco

Pasaco is a municipality in the Jutiapa department of Guatemala, located near the Pacific Ocean on the Border with El Salvador. It was originally formed when a group of Aztecs broke off at the arrival of Hernán Cortés, and went further south into what is now Guatemala (then Coahtemalan, or The Land of Abundance, in a Mayan dialect).

Ahuachapán Department

Ahuachapán is a department of El Salvador in the west of the country. The capital is Ahuachapán. In the South it has the Apenca-Ilamatepec Range and the Cerro Grande de Apaneca (Apaneca Grand Hill). Its extension is 1,240 km² and has more than 360,000 people living in the department.
