Estadio José Gregorio Martínez is a multi-use stadium in Chalatenango, El Salvador. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of C.D. Chalatenango. The stadium holds 15,000 people. The stadium was named after José Gregorio Martínez in 1988. A few matches in 2009 will be the host stadium for Nejapa F.C.

Chalatenango (known as "Chalate" by locals) is a town and municipality in the Chalatenango department of El Salvador. It is the capital of the department. The coat of arms is actually the same as the department's, as is the flag. As of 2007 the municipality covers an area of 131.5 km and has a population of 29,271. It is divided administratively into 6 cantons and 36 caserios.

El Chupadero is a town in the municipality of Santa Rita, Chalatenango, El Salvador. Currently the town is used for agricultural purposes, but it does have houses in which people live. There are two main roads in El Chupadero, the first one leads to the town of Santa Rita, and the second leads to the other little town called Los Marines. The land where El Chupadero is located, is home to Enrique Lopez that was elected mayor for Santa Rita for multiple times.

The Chalatenango Department encompasses 2,017 km² and contains more than 220,000 inhabitants. Las Matras Archaeological Ruins contains the relics of prehistoric populations and caves in which rock writing is found. The "5 de Noviembre" Hydroelectric Dam is found in Chalatenango Department, near the border with Cabañas.
