Santiago Nonualco
Santiago Nonualco is a municipality in La Paz department of El Salvador. "Nonualco" means tribe of mutes ("tribo de mudos") in the native Nahuat language. There are three "Nonualcos" in the area, the other two are San Juan Nonualco and San Pedro Nonualco. Santiago Nonualco is a relatively poor community even by El Salvadoran standards.

Estadio Antonio Toledo Valle is a multi-use stadium in Zacatecoluca, El Salvador. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of C.D. Platense Municipal Zacatecoluca. The stadium currently has a capacity of 10,000 people. It was built in 1974, on orders of then president of El Salvador Arturo Armando Molina. The stadium is named after Antonio Toledo Valle, a native footballer from the region who went on to play for C.D.

The department was created in 1852. There are various caves containing rock writing. The department has a church in Zacatecoluca where the Independence Hero Dr Jose Simeon Cañas y Villacorta was born. He was known as "The Liberator of the Slaves in Central America".
