Mount Entoto

Mount Entoto is the highest peak overlooking the city of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. Mount Entoto is part of the Entoto mountain chain, reaching 3,200 meters above sea level. It is also a historical place where Menelik II resided and built his palace, when he came from Ankober and founded Addis Ababa. It is considered a sacred mountain and holds many monasteries. It is also notable as the location of a number of celebrated churches, including Saint Raguel and Saint Mary.

The time zone in Ethiopia is East Africa Time (EAT). The IANA time zone database identifier is "Africa/Addis Ababa". Some Ethiopians use a 12-hour clock, with one cycle of 1 to 12 from dawn to dusk, and the other cycle from dusk to dawn. Unlike the convention in most countries, the start of the day is dawn, rather than midnight. Thus, 7:00 AM in East Africa Time corresponds to 1:00 in daylight hours in local Ethiopian time.

Addis Ababa University

Addis Ababa University, also known as Finfinnee University, is a state university in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. Originally called the University College of Addis Ababa at its founding, it was later renamed Haile Selassie I University in 1962 after the Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I. The institution received its current name in 1975.

Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, sometimes spelled Addis Abeba (the spelling used by the official Ethiopian Mapping Authority), is the capital city of Ethiopia. It is the largest city in Ethiopia, with a population of 3,384,569 according to the 2007 population census with annual growth rate of 3.8%. Based on this estimation, the population on the year 2013 would be 4,156,251. This datum has been increased from the originally published 2,738,248 figure and appears possibly largely underestimated still.
