Wag

Wag is a traditional highland district in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia, in the approximate location of the modern Wag Hemra Zone. Weld Blundell described the district as bounded on the south by the mountains of Lasta, on the east and north by the Tellare River, and the west by the Tekezé. The major urban center is the town of Sokota, which has been a major marketplace for centuries.

Soqota

Soqota (also transliterated Sekota and related variations) is a town and separate woreda in northern Ethiopia. The name is likely from the Agaw word sekut, "fortified village. " Located the Wag Hemra Zone of the Amhara Region, Soqota has a latitude and longitude of {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:12|38|N|39|02|E||| | |name= }} and an elevation of 2266 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by woreda of Soqota.

Bugna

Bugna (Ge'ez ቡግና būgnā, not pronounced "buña") is a woreda in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. It is named after the former district. Located in the northwest corner of the Semien Wollo Zone, Bugna is bordered on the south by Meket, on the west by the Debub Gondar Zone, on the north by the Wag Hemra Zone, and on the east by the Lasta woreda. The main town is 'Ayne. The Lasta woreda, where Lalibela is, was split off from Bugna.

Amde Werq

Amde Werq (Amdework), (amdewerk) (Amharic "a pillar of gold") is a town in northern Ethiopia. Located in the Wag Hemra Zone of the Amhara Region, this town has a latitude and longitude of {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:12|20|N|38|45|E||| |primary |name= }} with an elevation of 2421 meters above sea level. Amde Werq is the administrative centre of Dehana woreda. The word Dehana means "poor come here" in Ethiopian (Amharic) language. Deha means poor and na means come to a male gender.
