Degehabur
Degehabur is a town in the eastern part of Ethiopia known as the Ogaden. Located in the Degehabur Zone of the Somali Region on the Jerer River, it sits at 1044 meters above sea level. The town is the administrative center of Degehabur woreda. Local landmarks include the Church of St. George, and the white mosque of Degehabur, which Anthony Mockler described as "the most important in the Ogaden. Degehabur is one of the woredas in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Degehabur Zone, Degehabur is bordered on the southeast by the Gunagado and Korahe Zone, on the southwest by the Fiq Zone, on the west by Degehamedo, on the north by the Jijiga Zone, and on the east by Aware; it is frequently considered part of the Haud. The administrative center of this woreda is Degehabur. The two perennial rivers in Degehabur are the Fafen and the Jerer.

Degehabur Zone is one of the nine Zones in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. This zone is named after its largest city, Degehabur. Degehabur Zone is bordered on the south by Korahe, on the southwest by Fiq, on the northwest by Jijiga, on the northeast by Somalia, and on the southeast by Werder. Degehabur Zone is facing a crisis in deforestation due to charcoal production which "requires burning trees that will take decades to grow back, if they ever do."
