Château d'Aulteribe

The Château d'Aulteribe is a castle located in Sermentizon, in the Puy-de-Dôme département, Auvergne, central France. Built at the end of the Middle Ages, it was altered and restored in the second half of the 19th century. Many of the medieval-style features of the building were added at this time. In 1954, the Marquis Henri de Pierre, the last owner, bequeathed the château and its contents to the French state.

Château de Ravel

The Château de Ravel is a castle situated in the commune of Ravel, in the département of Puy-de-Dôme, France. The castle of Revel was begun by Bernard de Revel, noted in 1171. Purchased by Philip III of France in 1283, it was given by Philip IV to his future chancellor, Pierre Flotte. It passed by marriage and inheritance to the d'Estaing family, by the marriage of the heiress Marie Comborcier du Terrail with her cousin Jean d'Estaing, 1647.

Dore (river)

The Dore is a 141 km long river in central France, right tributary of the river Allier. Its source is near the town Saint-Germain-l'Herm, in the Massif Central. The Dore flows generally north through the following towns: Arlanc, Ambert, Courpière, Puy-Guillaume. The Dore flows into the river Allier 6 km north of Puy-Guillaume.

Glozel

Glozel is a hamlet in central France, part of the commune of Ferrières-sur-Sichon, Canton of Le Mayet-de-Montagne, Allier, some 17 km from Vichy. Glozel is probably best known as the place where, from 1924 to 1930, over 3,000 artifacts were discovered, including clay tablets, sculptures and vases, some of which were inscribed with symbols or letters.

Arboretum Paul Barge

The Arboretum Paul Barge (6 hectares) is a municipal arboretum and natural area located in Ferrières-sur-Sichon, Allier, Auvergne, France. It is open daily without charge. The arboretum includes forested areas with three trails, a herbarium, and timber exhibits. The town has planted various tree species, including all known trees native to the Bourbonnaise mountains, as well as exotic species including Ginkgo biloba and Liriodendron tulipifera.
