Auxerre Cathedral

Auxerre Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Étienne d'Auxerre) located in Auxerre, Burgundy, France, is known for its expansive stained glass windows. Most of the Burgundian Gothic cathedral was built between 1215 and 1233 above an 11th-century crypt. Construction continued until the 1540s when the cupola, in Renaissance style that takes the place of one pinnacle on the completed tower, was completed.

Abbey of Saint-Germain d'Auxerre

The Abbey of Saint-Germain d'Auxerre was a Benedictine monastery in central France, dedicated to its founder Saint Germain of Auxerre, the bishop of Auxerre, who died in 448. The abbey reached the apex of its cultural importance during the Carolingian era; the source for its early history is an account of the Miracula Sancti Germani Episcopi Autissiodorensis ("Miracles of Saint Germain, Bishop of Auxerre") written before ca. 880.

Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps

The Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps is the home of AJ Auxerre football club in Auxerre, France. It has a capacity of 24,493. The stadium is the only Ligue 1 team stadium owned by the team. Renovated in 1994, it was renamed the Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps after Abbe Deschamps, who founded the club in 1905.

Canal du Nivernais

The Canal du Nivernais links the Loire basin with the Seine basin following approximately the course of the river Yonne in a south to north direction. Beginning in the village of Saint-Léger-des-Vignes, the canal traverses the department of the Nièvre reaching its half-way point at the town of Clamecy and finishes in the town of Auxerre, situated on the River Yonne.

The Cure is a 112 km long river in central France, a right tributary of the Yonne. Its source is in Gien-sur-Cure, in the Morvan hills. Its course crosses the following départements and towns: Nièvre: Montsauche-les-Settons Yonne: Vézelay, Vermenton The Cure flows into the Yonne in Cravant near Vermenton.
