Château de Germolles

Château de Germolles is situated in Burgundy, not far from Beaune and Chalon-sur-Saône. It is the best preserved residence of the Dukes of Burgundy. Built during the second part of the 14th century, this château is important for the history of the region. Furthermore it is a rare example of such a well preserved residence in France in the 14th and the beginning of the 15th centuries, when most of the princely palaces of that period have almost entirely disappeared.

Thalie

The Thalie (or Talie) is a short river in Saône-et-Loire, France. It rises at Rully and runs for 21.7 km to Saint-Remy where it joins the Saône. It has an average discharge of 0.34 m³/s, and its tributaries are the ru Guillot, ruisseau du Bois and ruisseau de Guerlande.

Creusot steam hammer

The Creusot steam hammer was a giant steam hammer built in 1877 by Schneider and Co. in the French industrial town of Le Creusot. With the ability to deliver a blow of up to 100 tons, the Creusot hammer was the most powerful in the world until 1891, when the Bethlehem Iron Company of the United States purchased patent rights from Schneider and built a steam hammer of almost identical design but capable of delivering a 125 ton blow.
