Allaine

The Allaine (named Allan in its lower course) is a 65 km long river in northwestern Switzerland and eastern France. Its source is in the village Charmoille, in the Swiss Jura mountains. Battle of the Lisaine

The Battle of the Lisaine was fought from 15 January to 17 January 1871 between Prussian and French forces. The French were led by Charles Denis Bourbaki, and were attempting to relieve the Siege of Belfort. The Prussians prepared multiple corps, about 52000 men to halt the French advance of about 152000 men. The Prussian corps had their outer posts overran quite swiftly but the Prussians forced back the French forces.

Château de Montbéliard

The Château de Montbéliard (Castle of Montbeliard), also known as the Château des ducs de Württemberg (Castle of the Dukes of Württemberg) is a fortress located on an outcropping rock that surveys the town of Montbéliard in the Doubs département of France. It is a monument historique listed by the French Ministry of Culture.

County of Montbéliard

The County of Montbéliard, was a feudal county of the Holy Roman Empire based around the city of Montbéliard in the present-day Franche-Comté region of France. From 1444 onwards it was held by the House of Württemberg.
