Berthouville Treasure

The Berthouville treasure is a hoard of Roman silver uncovered by ploughing in March 1830 at the hamlet of Villeret in the commune of Berthouville in the Eure département of Normandy, northern France. Purchased at the time of discovery for a modest 15,000 francs, the treasure is conserved in the Cabinet des Médailles at the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris.

Gare de Bernay

The Gare de Bernay is the train station for the town of Bernay, Eure and was built by CF de fer de Paris à Cherbourg in 1855. It is situated on the Mantes-la-Jolie–Cherbourg railway. The station was, like most stations on the line to Cherbourg, built by the line's first concessionary, the Compagnie du chemin de fer de Cherbourg. The station is a traditional building, with the lower part built in granite with red brick walls, with stone doors and window entourages.

Charentonne

The Charentonne is a 63 km long river in Normandy, left tributary of the Risle. The river begins in pays d'Ouche, in the forest of Saint-Évroult, in the south of the Saint-Évroult-Notre-Dame-du-bois village and the ruins of the abbey where lived and died Orderic Vitalis (1075-1142). The river runs, in a North-North-East direction, towards the Risle with which it joins at Serquigny. The Charentonne valley, which separates the Lieuvin plateau and the Ouche plateau has stiff and wooded slopes.

Bec Abbey

Bec Abbey (French: Abbaye Notre-Dame du Bec) in Le Bec Hellouin, Normandy, France, once the most influential abbeys in the Anglo-Norman kingdom of the twelfth century, is a Benedictine monastic foundation in the Eure département, in the Bec valley midway between the cities of Rouen and Bernay. Like all abbeys, Bec maintained annals of the house, but uniquely its first abbots also received individual biographies, brought together by the monk of Bec, Milo Crispin.

Lieuvin

The Lieuvin is a plateau region in the western part of the Eure département in Normandy, France. The plateau consists of typical Norman bocage and is bounded by the Seine estuary to the north, the Risle valley to the east, the Charentonne valley to the south and, in the west, the Pays d'Auge which corresponds to the Touques basin. The economy is primarily agricultural. The largest towns are Beuzeville, Épaignes, Lieurey and Thiberville.
