Barentin Viaduct

Barentin Viaduct is a railway viaduct that crosses the Austreberthe River on the Paris–Le Havre line near to the town of Barentin, Normandy, France, about 12 miles from Rouen. It was constructed of brick with 27 arches, 100 feet high with a total length of 600 yards . The British engineer was Joseph Locke and the contractor Thomas Brassey. Shortly after it was completed, after several days of heavy rain, the viaduct collapsed on 10 January 1846. The cause of the collapse was never determined.

Austreberthe

The Austreberthe is a 18-km river in the Seine-Maritime. Its source is the village of Sainte-Austreberthe. It meets the Seine at Duclair. The Austreberthe is crossed by the Barentin Viaduct, a noteworthy 30 metre high brick railway bridge built in 1846, about 19-km from Rouen.

Chêne chapelle

The Chêne chapelle (lit. "chapel oak") is an oak tree located in Allouville-Bellefosse in Seine-Maritime, France. The oak tree is between 800 and 1,200 years old. It is 15m high and its base has a circumference of 16m. Its hollow trunk hosts two chapels, which were built there in 1669: Notre Dame de la Paix ("Our Lady of Peace") and the Chambre de l'Ermite ("Hermit's room"). A spiral staircase around the trunk provides access to the chapels.
