Vieux-château de l'Île d'Yeu

The Vieux-château de l'île d'Yeu ("Old castle of the Isle of Yeu") is a fortification île d'Yeu off the French Atlantic coast in the département of Vendée. Olivier IV de Clisson, a great builder of castles, undertook the work with the aim of protecting the islanders in the event of foreign invasion. The longest of these had been led by the famous English pirate, Robert Knolles, who managed to seize the castle in 1355 and occupied the island for 37 years.

Île d'Yeu lighthouse

The Île d'Yeu lighthouse, sometimes called the Grand Phare (Great Lighthouse) or La Petite Foule, is a French lighthouse constructed on the Île d'Yeu in 1950. The structure, designed by Maurice Durand, is the third serving the site; the original tower, constructed in 1830, was destroyed by German troops near the close of World War II.

Île d'Yeu Aerodrome

Île d'Yeu Aerodrome or Aérodrome d'Ile d'Yeu - Grand Phare is an airport located 3.5 km east of Port-Joinville on the island of Île d'Yeu, a commune of the Vendée département in the Pays de la Loire région of France.

USS Tenadores (1913)

USS Tenadores was a transport ship for the United States Navy during World War I. Before the war she was known as SS Tenadores in the service of the United Fruit Company. Before her Navy service, she served as a United States Army transport under the name USAT Tenadores.

Pointe des Corbeaux lighthouse

The Pointe des Corbeaux lighthouse is a French lighthouse, located on the eponymous point on the Île d'Yeu. Located at the extreme southwestern end of the island, it was constructed in 1950 to replace an earlier tower destroyed during World War II. Along with the Île d'Yeu lighthouse, it is one of two lighthouses on the island to have been designed by Maurice Durand; construction of both was completed in the same year.
