Château de Barbezieux

The Château de Barbezieux is a castle situated in the commune of Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire, in the Charente département of France. It dates from 1453, though an earlier castle, of which no trace remains, stood on the site from the early 11th century. The castle has been listed since 1913 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

The Canton of Montlieu-la-Garde is a canton of the Charente-Maritime department, in France. The lowest point is about 50 m in the commune of Bussac-Forêt, the highest point is Chevanceaux at 158 m, the average or the centre is 98 m. The leastly populated commune is Le Pin with 210 and the most populated commune is Montlieu-la-Garde with 1,275.

Seugne

The Seugne is an 82.4 km long river in the Charente-Maritime département, in western France, left tributary of the Charente. Its source is in the commune of Montlieu-la-Garde, 2 km west of the village. It flows generally north-northwest. North from Colombiers, the Seugne splits in some branches, the main one flowing into the Charente at Courcoury, 2.5 km east of the village and the others 3, 4, 6 and 7 km downstream at Courcoury and Les Gonds.
