Stade Marcel-Deflandre

Stade Marcel-Deflandre is a sports stadium in La Rochelle, France. It is the home ground of rugby union team Atlantique Stade Rochelais of the Top 14 who have played there since it was opened in 1926. It has undergone significant redevelopment since 1995 and the present capacity is 12,500. The stadium is named after Marcel Deflandre, a president of the club who was executed in 1944 during the Second World War.

La Pallice

La Pallice (also known as grand port maritime de La Rochelle) is the industrial harbour of the city of La Rochelle, France. It is a commercial harbour in deep water, named after the French philosopher La Pallice. The large submarine base built during World War II still stands there, although it is not being used. La Pallice is equipped with oil unloading equipment, and mainly handles tropical wood.

Orbigny-Bernon Museum

The Orbigny-Bernon Museum is a history museum in the French city of La Rochelle. It was founded in 1917, and contains collections relating to the history of La Rochelle, as well as an important collection of porcelains of the city. A floor is also dedicated to Far Eastern art, with the collection of the French diplomat Baron Charles de Chassiron.

Vauclair castle

Vauclair castle, also Vauclerc castle was a castle built in La Rochelle, by Henry II of England in the 12th century. The castle was located in the area defined by the current Place de Verdun (formally called Place du Chateau). It was incorporated in the fortifications of the city built by William X of Aquitaine, father of Alienor of Aquitaine, in 1130. The castle consisted in four large towers connected by high walls.
