Pointe de Grave

The Pointe de Grave is the Northernmost tip of the Médoc Peninsula and marks the Northern end of the pine-clad sandy Landes coastline of Western France. It lies opposite the resort town of Royan. The offshore Cordouan lighthouse lies off the point and a second lighthouse, on the shore, houses a lighthouse museum.

Elbing-class torpedo boat

The Elbing class torpedo boats (or Flottentorpedoboot 1939) were a class of 15 small warships that served in the German Kriegsmarine during World War II. Although classed as Flottentorpedoboot ("fleet torpedo boat") by the Germans, in most respects—displacement, weaponry, usage—they were comparable to contemporary medium-size destroyers.

Château de la Roche Courbon

Château de la Roche Courbon is a large château, developed from an earlier castle, in the Charente-Maritime département of France. It is in the commune of Saint-Porchaire between Saintes and Rochefort. Its name is just as frequently written Château de la Rochecourbon. The château is privately owned, and classified as an historic monument. The garden is listed by the French Ministry of Culture as one of the Notable Gardens of France.
