Fier (river)

The Fier is a 71.9 km long river in the Haute-Savoie and Savoie départements, southeastern France. Its source is at Manigod, in the Aravis Range. It flows generally west. It is a left tributary of the Rhone into which it flows at Seyssel. The Chéran is among its tributaries.

Chaise (river)

The Chaise, also known as the Monthoux, is a mountain river of eastern France. It flows through the departments Savoie and Haute-Savoie. It is a right tributary of the Arly which it joins in Ugine where, in the mid nineteenth century, it was crossed by a wooden bridge.

La Croix Fry

La Croix Fry is a small village contained within the Domaine de Manigod. With a population of under 600 people La Croix Fry is a popular site for hill walking on the Plateau de Beauregard as well as skiing in the winter. It is located in between the large skiing town of La Clusaz and the village of Manigod; the village centre is on the Tour de France route through the Haute-Savoie.

Tamié Abbey

Tamié Abbey (Abbaye de Tamié, or Abbaye Notre-Dame-de-Tamié) is a Cistercian monastery, located in the Bauges, Savoie, France. It was founded in 1132, as a daughter house of Bonnevaux Abbey, by Peter of Tarentaise, who was also the first abbot. It continues as a Trappist community of 30 monks, famous for its cheese, Abbaye de Tamié.
