Battle of Vézeronce

The Battle of Vézeronce took place on June 25, 524 close to Vézeronce-Curtin (then Veseruntia) in Isère. It was part of the Burgundian War initiated by the four successors of the Frankish king Clovis I: Childebert I, Chlodomir, Chlothar I, and Theuderic I. The Burgundian king Sigismund was defeated, but Chlodomir, the leader of the Frankish army, was killed in battle, traditionally by Gundomar III, brother of Sigismund.

Dauphiné

The Dauphiné or Dauphiné Viennois is a former province in southeastern France, whose area roughly corresponded to that of the present departments of :Isère, :Drôme, and :Hautes-Alpes. The Dauphiné (also called Dauphiny in ancient English) was an independent state from 1040 to 1349, under the rule of the Counts of Albon, before joining the Kingdom of France. As a French province, it maintained its autonomy until 1457.

Morge (Isère)

The Morge is a small river in eastern France, right tributary of the river Isère. Its source is near the Col de Saint-Roch, northeast of Voiron. It flows through Voiron, and joins the Isère south of Voiron, opposite the town Saint-Quentin-sur-Isère.
