Bichl

Bichl is a municipality in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen in Bavaria, Germany. It is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:47|43|N|11|25|E|region:DE_type:city(2000)|| | |name= }}, and has about 2000 residents. The village first appears in documents from 1048. The name "Bichl" refers to hill upon which the village church, St. George, stands. The church was built by Johann Michael Fischer.

SS-Junkerschule Bad Tölz

SS-Junkerschule Bad Tölz was the officers' training school for the Waffen-SS. It was the SS equivalent of Britain's Sandhurst and the USA's West Point. The school was established in 1937, in the town of Bad Tölz which is about 30 miles south of Munich and the location was seemingly chosen because it had both good transport links and was in an inspiring location. The design and construction of the school was intended to impress the staff, students, visitors and passers-by.
