Neuburg-Schrobenhausen

Neuburg-Schrobenhausen is a district in Bavaria, Germany. It is bounded by (from the east and clockwise) the districts of Pfaffenhofen, Aichach-Friedberg, Donau-Ries and Eichstätt, and by the city of Ingolstadt.

Old Bavarian Donaumoos

The Old Bavarian Donaumoos is a former bog on the southern side of the Danube river, south west of Ingolstadt, Bavaria, in the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district. The bog, drained from 1790 onwards, has now dropped 3 metres (9.8 ft) in surface level because of the drainage and associated environmental effects. The Donaumoos was once the largest bog in Southern Germany.

Burg Wittelsbach

Burg Wittelsbach (Castle of Wittelsbach) was a castle near Aichach in today's Bavarian Swabia. The castle was first mentioned around the year 1000. In 1119, Count Otto III of Scheyern moved into the castle of Wittelsbach. The castle's name, "Witilinesbac", is however already mentioned as the place of origin of Otto III in a document by Henry V dating from 1115. From 1120, the Counts of Scheyern styled themselves Counts Palatine of Wittelsbach.
