Bavarian Forest

The Bavarian Forest is a wooded low-mountain region in Bavaria, Germany. It extends along the Czech border and is continued on the Czech side by the Šumava (Bohemian Forest). Geographically the Bavarian Forest and Bohemian Forest are sections of the same mountain range. A part of the Bavarian Forest belongs to the Bavarian Forest National Park (Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald) (240 km²), established in 1970 as the first national park in Germany.

Frauenzell Abbey

Frauenzell Abbey or Priory (Kloster Frauenzell) was a house of the Benedictine Order located at Brennberg in Bavaria in Germany. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the monastery was founded in 1321 by Reinmar of Brennberg. At first a cell or priory of Oberalteich Abbey, it was granted the status of an abbey in its own right in 1424. It was dissolved in 1803 in the secularisation of the period.

Chammünster Abbey

Chammünster Abbey (in German Kloster Chammünster) was a house of the Benedictine Order formerly located at Chammünster, now part of the town of Cham, in Bavaria in Germany. It was supposedly founded in 739 by Duke Odilo of Bavaria, who reigned from 736 to 748, and settled by monks of St. Emmeram's Abbey in Regensburg. It was dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The first documentary reference is dated 819.

Chamb

The Chamb is a river in the Czech Republic and in Germany. It is a 51 kilometres right tributary of the Regen River. The Chamb begins south of the Czech village of Kdyně, and flows some 6 kilometres westward, crossing into Germany at an elevation of 407 metres . From there it flows southwestward through Eschlkam, Furth im Wald, and Arnschwang, joining the Regen east of the city of Cham (whose name is of similar Celtic etymology). The discharge of the Chamb is variable.

Straubing-Bogen

Straubing-Bogen is a Kreis (district) in the eastern part of Bavaria, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Cham, Regen, Deggendorf, Dingolfing-Landau, Landshut and Regensburg. The district-free city Straubing is surrounded by the district. The seat of the government of the district is located in Straubing. The only cities in the district are Bogen and Geiselhöring.
