Eschwege Airfield

Eschwege Airfield is a former military airfield located in Germany in the northwest part of Eschwege (Hessen); approximately 170 miles southwest of Berlin. Fliegerhorst Eschwege was used during World War II by the German Luftwaffe as a transport and support airfield. It was seized in early April 1945 by the United States Army and used as a Ninth Air Force combat airfield until the end of the war in Europe. It was closed in January 1946 and was used as a displaced persons camp until 1949.

Hoher Meissner transmitter is a facility for mediumwave, FM- and TV-broadcasting on Hoher Meissner mountain in Northern Hesse. Hoher Meissner transmitter was inaugurated in 1951. For the mediumwave transmission of Hoher Meissner transmitter from 1951 to 1995 a 150 metre tall guyed steel-tube mast radiator insulated against ground was used. In 1995 this mast was replaced by a 155 metre tall guyed lattice steel mast at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:51|12|34|N|9|50|45|E| | |name= }}.
