Mansfeld Castle
Mansfeld Castle is a castle in the region of Mansfeld Land in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The castle, which is surrounded by forest, stands on top of a large rock overlooking the town of Mansfeld. The Late Gothic church of the castle, as well as the ruins, moats and the remains of the battlements from the time of the old fortress make Mansfeld castle a popular attraction. Martin Luther often visited the castle, as his parents lived in Mansfeld.

Rote Welle
Rote Welle (in English red wave) is an abandoned village in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Today, there can be found ruins, but most of them are from a time when the village did not exist any more. The place is located in the valley of the, same named, stream Rote Welle, circa 2.3 kilometers north of the village Welfesholz. After the Battle of Welfesholz in 1115, Rote Welle got plundered and burned down with the other villages Lodderstedt, Nisselsdorf, Milrode, Wesenstedt and Disdorf.
