Battle of Yenidje
The Battle of Yenidje or Yenice, also Battle of Giannitsa (Greek: Μάχη των Γιαννιτσών), was a battle between the Greek Army and the Ottoman Army on October 20 (O.S. ) / November 2, 1912, during the First Balkan War. The Greek Army defeated the Ottomans, opening the way towards Thessaloniki and capturing Yenidje (now Giannitsa).

Damiano
Damiano is a small village outside the town of Giannitsa, in Greece's Pella regional unit. The village, of only about one hundred people, is famous for the agricultural regions around it, and its church of Ayios Dimitrios. The village is the birthplace of Elisavet Mystakidou, who won a silver medal in tae kwon do at the Athens 2004 Olympics.

Greek National Road 2 (Greek: Εθνική Οδός 2, abbreviated as EO2) is a single carriageway with at-grade intersections, located in the regions of West Macedonia, Central Macedonia and East Macedonia and Thrace. It connects the Albanian border near Florina with the Turkish border near Alexandroupoli. Its section east of Thessaloniki has been replaced by the new A2 (Egnatia Odos) motorway. The section between the Albanian border and Thessaloniki is part of European route E86.
