Monastery of Saint Paraskevi (Vikos)

The Monastery of Saint Paraskevi is an abandoned monastery situated on the edge of Vikos Gorge, in the region of Zagori,, northwestern Greece. The monastery founded at 1413–1414, consists of a small stone-built chapel, the oldest preserved in Zagori, and offers panoramic views to the gorge.

Dikorfo

Dikorfo (Greek: Δίκορφο, also Δικόρυφο - Dikoryfo) is a small village in the region of Epirus in Greece. The village belongs to the area of Zagori, which consists of 43 traditional villages in the Pindus mountains. The village's population fluctuates seasonally, from 50 in the winter to 300 in the summer. This is due to the village's location as a tourist destination.

Gyftokampos

Gyftokampos is an area ιn the Zagori region, 58 km north of Ioannina. Its name is derived from the Greek "gyftos" (γύφτος), gypsy and "kampos" that means "field", and could be rendered in English translation as "gypsy lea". There used to be a hamlet called Nouka on this location which was also used by the Sarakatsani as pasture grounds. The area, located at the base of Mt Tymfi, has traditionally belonged to the village of Skamneli and it forms part of the municipality of Tymfi.

Vikos, Ioannina

Vikos, also known as Vitsiko, is a village in the Central Zagori municipal unit in Ioannina regional unit, Greece. It lies at the northern end of the Vikos Gorge. A paved path leads from the village to the Voidomatis springs in the gorge.

Vikos Gorge

The Vikos Gorge (Greek: Φαράγγι του Βίκου) is a gorge in the Pindus Mountains of northern Greece. It lies on the southern slopes of Mount Tymfi, with a length of about 20 km, depth ranging from 450 m to 1600 m and width from 400 m to some metres at its narrowest part. Vikos is listed as the deepest gorge in the world by the Guinness Book of Records among others.
