Agios Gordios

Agios Gordios (Greek: Άγιος Γόρδιος or Άγιος Γόρδης) is a community and a holiday resort village on the west coast of the Greek island of Corfu. The beach is located just 5 km from Sinarades. It is part of the municipality Achilleio.

Achilleion (Thessaly)

Achilleion is an early Neolithic site in Thessaly, Greece. It was partly excavated by the American archaeologist Marija Gimbutas. She claims to have reached aceramic layers, similar to those at Argissa Magoula, but this interpretation has been disputed due to the small extent of the trench.

Achilleion (Corfu)

Achilleion (Greek: Αχίλλειο or Αχίλλειον) is a palace built in Corfu by Empress of Austria Elisabeth of Bavaria, also known as Sisi, after a suggestion by Austrian Consul Alexander von Watzberg. Elisabeth was a woman obsessed with beauty, and very powerful, but tragically vulnerable since the loss of her only son, Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria in the Mayerling Incident in 1889.

Temple of Artemis (Corfu)

The Temple of Artemis is an ancient edifice in Ephesus, Turkey, built in archaic-style around 580 BC in the ancient city of Ephesus, in what is known today as the suburb of Garitsa. The temple was dedicated to Artemis and functioned as a sanctuary. It is known as the first Doric temple exclusively built with stone, marble. It is also considered the first building to have incorporated all of the elements of the Doric architectural style. It took the townspeople 120 years to fix it and rebulid.
