Cephalonia International Airport

Cephalonia International Airport is an airport on the island of Cephalonia, in Greece. The airport opened in 1971 to serve the former municipality Leivathos with improved transportation links; Cephalonia is now a single municipality. A new runway and the current terminal building were constructed in the 1980s.

Archaeological Museum of Argostoli

The Archaeological Museum of Argostoli, also known as the Kefalonia Museum is a museum in Argostoli, Greece, located a few blocks south of the plateia, across from the Municipal Theater on R. Vergoti. It contains antiquities found on the island of Kefalonia, ranging from the prehistoric to the Roman periods. The old museum was destroyed by an earthquake in 1953. The current building was built in 1960. and designed by the well-known architect Patroklos Karantinos.

Gulf of Argostoli

The Gulf of Argostoli is a gulf of the Ionian Sea on the island of Cephalonia, western Greece. It separates the Paliki peninsula from mainland Cephalonia, and opens toward the Ionian Sea in the south. The gulf is 13 km long (north to south) and 2 to 3 km wide. Lixouri, the second-largest town of Cephalonia, is situated on its western shore, and the capital Argostoli is situated on a bay in the eastern shore. The shores of the gulf are mountainous, especially in the east.
