Lygkos

Lygkos, also transliterated as Lyngos or Lygos, is a remote mountain range in the eastern Ioannina and the western Grevena regional unit in northwestern Greece. It is a part of the Pindus mountain range. Its highest point is the Avgo, at 2,177 m elevation. The Lygkos mountains lie in a horseshoe shape around the Valia Kalda (Βάλια Κάλντα) valley, which exits towards the Aoos valley to the west. The Valia Kalda is part of the Pindus-Valia Kalda National Park, founded in 1966.

Mavranaioi

Mavranaioi (or Mavranei) is the former seat of government of the municipality of Theodoros Ziakas, Grevena regional unit, in Greece. The destination of Mavranaioi is located in the periphery of West Macedonia in the country of Greece. It has a population of approximately 200(1991). It is the first village on the road to the ski resort Vassilitsa at an altitude of 770 m. The main sources of income are agriculture and livestock.

Katara Pass

The Katara Pass or Metsovo Pass (Greek: Πέρασμα της Κατάρας) is a mountain pass in the Pindus mountains in northern Greece. It is 5 km northeast of the town Metsovo. Situated on the border of Epirus and Thessaly, it forms the divide between the river basins of the Aoos to the southwest and the Pineios to the east. Its elevation is about 1,705 m making it one of the highest in the nation. The Greek National Road 6 crosses the Katara Pass.

Kalloni, Grevena

Kalloni is a traditional mountain village in the municipality of Grevena in the Greek periphery of West Macedonia. It is 29 kilometres from Grevena, at a height of 1080 metres above sea level. The settlement was established in 1690 and officially listed in the archives of the Monastery of Zavorda in 1797. The village was liberated in the Balkan wars in 1912 and renamed to Kalloni in 1926. Its former name was Lountzi.
