The Thumbnail is the sea cliff located in South Greenland in Cape Farewell region, ca. 50 km to the east from the town of Nanortalik, over the west side of Torssukátak Fjord (often known as Torssukátak Sound as it divides the main land from the Pamiagdluk Island). It belongs to the massif of Maujit Qaqarssuasia (also Qoqarssuasia), 1560 m a.s.l. , being its eastern flank. The nearest peak dominating the neighbor ridges is Agdlerussakasit (1760 or 1706 m a.s.l.

The name Nanortalik means "Place of Polar Bears" or "Place Where the Polar Bears Go". It is the southern-most town in Greenland with a population of over 1,000.
