Quezaltepeque is a volcanic field in Chiquimula, Guatemala at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:14|34|0|N|89|27|0|W| | |name= }}. It has erupted in the Holocene. It is an area of basaltic lava flows was erupted from vents along a north-south trending fault without explosions, cutting through Tertiary pyroclastic rocks WNW of Ipala volcano about 5 km south of Quezaltepeque town.

Quezaltepeque is a municipality in the Chiquimula department of Guatemala. There are approximately 5,000 inhabitants. The local economy is based on agriculture. Agricultural products include coffee, maize and beans. As of 1993, there was a working telegraph terminal there in the post office.

Lake Ipala

Laguna de Ipala is a crater lake in Guatemala. The lake is located in the south-eastern Chiquimula Department at the bottom of a 1 km wide crater of the Ipala Volcano. The lake has a surface area of 0.59 km² and is situated at an altitude of 1493 m.
