Las Cruces is a municipality in the northern Guatemalan department of El Petén. It is situated at 130 meter above sea level at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:16|38|10|N|90|11|02|W|type:landmark_region:GT |primary |name=Las Cruces }}. The municipality was founded in 2011 when it split off from the territory of La Libertad.

Seibal
Seibal, known as El Ceibal in Spanish, is a Classic Period archaeological site of the Maya civilization located in the northern Petén Department of Guatemala. It was the largest city in the Pasión River region. The site was occupied from the Preclassic Period through to the Terminal Classic, with a significant hiatus. The principal phase of occupation dates to the Late Preclassic (400 BC – AD 200), followed by a decline in the Early Classic (AD 200–600).

While initially a center of some regional importance, with the rise of Dos Pilas, Arroyo de Piedra was subsumed as a secondary center within the Petexbatun region.
