Hogg Island, Guyana
Hogg Island, (sometimes referred to as Hog Island) is the largest of the hundreds of islands in the Essequibo River in Guyana, it is located just 5 km from the river's mouth in its estuary into the Atlantic Ocean, located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:6|49|27|N|58|31|54|W|region:GY |primary |name= }}. Essequibo Islands-West Demerara (Region 3) is a region of Guyana, split in two by the Essequibo River. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, the region of Demerara-Mahaica to the east, the region of Upper Demerara-Berbice to the south and the regions of It contains the towns of Parika, Schoon Ord and Uitvlugt. Parika
Parika is a port township located in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region of Guyana. It is popular for its ferry service, operated by the Ministry of Transportation, to and from the Essequibo Islands and West Demerara area. It is also notable for its Sunday markets. The East Bank, Essequibo township has seen considerable developments and investments by the private sector, especially in the area of financial services. Parika has more banks than anywhere else in the region.
