Battle of Haugsnes
The Battle of Haugsnes (Haugsnesbardagi) was fought at Haugsnes, a low peninsula south of Flugumýri in Skagafjörður in Northern Iceland. The battle was fought on 19 April 1246 between the forces of Þórður kakali Sighvatsson and those of Gissur Þorvaldsson. Þórður was victorious. It was the bloodiest battle ever to be fought in Icelandic history, with about 110 casualties in total, amongst them Brandur Kolbeinsson, chieftain of the Ásbirningar.

Vatnsfjörður
Vatnsfjörður is a nature reserve located north-west of Breiðafjörður on the Hjarðarnes coast of northwestern Iceland. Vatnsfjörður was legally declared a nature reserve in 1975 and is part of the land owned by the head estate Brjánslækur. In accordance with nature reserve regulations, conventional utilization of the land is permitted and there is considerable sheep farming in the area which covers approximately 20 hectares of mostly rough vegetation .

Thingeyri
Thingeyri (in Icelandic written Þingeyri) is a settlement in the municipality of Ísafjarðarbær, Iceland. It is located on the coast of the fjord Dýrafjörður in the mountainous peninsula Westfjords (in Icelandic written Vestfirðir). It has a population of approximately 260. Continually inhabited since 1787, Þingeyri is one of the oldest settlements in the Westfjords and the first trading post established there.
